Deloitte Technology Preditions for 2010 Include Thin Clients

The Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) practice at Deloitte announced its 2010 predictions for the technology sector a few weeks ago and Thin Clients made the list.

Deloitte predicts that in 2010 over 1 million computing seats will end up as a Thin Client. Over the next five years they estimate that Thin Clients should reach 10 percent of company computers, with the majority of medium to large business considering a shift to some type of Thin Client technology.

According to the analysts at Deloitte:

"Thin clients can help deliver direct saving-by minimizing and making IT support and maintenance more efficient as well as reducing hardware costs and licensing fees."

They also site benefits such as mobility, increased productivity, lower real estate costs, lower power consumption and better security.
